a career excitement to share
I am now a candidate for the 2010 Guggenheim Fellowship award!..Yes, the hard part is to come; but...this is certainly a happiness to share!!
a painterly delay
...and we shoot this Friday. The cleanup was easy...my concerns unwarranted..probably true of most concerns ;-)..The owners understood how to make room for the architecture to stand out...both owners and architect a delight to work with.

Architectural shoot
...and so my architect's client has finished construction on her gazebo ...painting will be finished soon and we have a date set for 10/10. I've scouted the house to see what lighting I will need. Here's the diplomacy factor: how do I get the owners to clean up the house enough so the architecture is visible? Will be speaking with the architect on that...delicato...yes? But, oh so necessary...comments and input welcome...will let you know as things progress..

Women's Rock Climbing Weekend

International Mountain Equipment in North Conway, NH, hosted its annual climbing workshop weekend for women, June 27 - 28. We were rained out midday, Sunday, but the weekend was still a great success. We used the rain time indoors, at IME, to review familiar and learn new safety procedures for belaying and rapelling. I shot the event for their site and promotional material and - of course - got in some quality, though abbreviated by rain - climbing. An instance of making a timely telephone call. Reach out for what you want...you might just get it;-)

one thing leads to another....
My photos of a house for NY House Magazine led to the house owner referring me to an architect. I may have an ongoing connection there. We start shooting in July.
